Vision

We wish to build a better Odisha, where all it’s people live in peace, harmony and with dignity and equal opportunities, in good health and being empowered with information and technology, gainfully employed; creating an environment conducive to the full expression of creativity and enterprise.

Odisha has been humbled by history, sliding down from a substantial past to some kind of soft existence. But it has the resilience to make a turnaround. For it’s better future with greater and greater prosperity, the time is now to envision the possibilities, exploit the opportunities, mobilize the resources- human, material, technological and financial, utilize potentials and, thus, determine a way forward for inclusive development of the state.

We want development that does not come with disparity. The fruits of development need to be shared equitably by all the people for bridging the divide between male and female folk of Rayagada and Nayagada district, poor tribal people of Kalahandi and rich, affluent people living in the urban areas and elsewhere, coastal Odisha and western Odisha, developed region and backward region, Nabrangapur and Khordha districts in term of literacy, Nuapada and Bhadrak district on the basis of agricultural development, Sundargarh and Gajapati districts on the basis of industrial development, Malkangiri and Khordha districts on the basis of infrastructure development, Cuttack, Ganjam and Mayurbhanj, Koraput districts on the basis of overall development. To this end, it is required to boost agricultural and manufacturing, particularly, agro-based and food processing industries, textiles and cottage industries. Tourism could be another growth engine of the state economy. Development of new sea ports and expansion of rail links covering major freight corridors and connecting six uncovered districts are crucial to accelerate the pace of growth.

For strategic and sustainable development there is also the need to identify persistent and potential problems, risks and bottlenecks and their possible solutions, enhancing the coping capacity of the state to deal with disasters like frequent flood, famine, cyclone drought etc.

To attain these ends and achieve the set goal, we shall bear any burden, meet any hardship, pay any price, and put any effort with awful lot of dedication and determination.
